1) Independent Research Project - This course focuses on introducing the concept of research to                                                                  the students. As an introductory course it highlights the components of research, research process, types of data, collecting and making use of data and the coverage of key ingredients of successful research assignment all to be turned up as an academic research paper on preferred topic.

2) Course Objective - To conceive and articulate an independent professional view on related issue                                        on based on research on reference and study of specific concern argument of larger relevance.
(a) To gain insight onto how scientific research conducted.
(b) To help in critical review of literature and assessing the research trends quality and extension potential of research  and equip students to undertake research.
(c) To learn and understand the basic statics involved in data presentations.
(d) To identify the influencing the factors or determinants of research parameters.
(e) To test their significance, validity and re-ability of the research result.

    Topic 1- Ways and means to increase Gem cutting training programme in Jaipur.
    Topic 2- Identification of gaps in gems and jewellery skill training imparted by institutional                                training programme.

  • Status of institutional training programme in gems and jewellery sector.
  • Comparison between skill sets demanded by the industry and skill sets offered by the institutions.
  • Identification of gaps in gems and jewellery skilled training,
  • Suggestions to fill the training gap.
7) Proposed Research Plan
                            Project 1 -  (i) To collect primary data from industry ( organised and unorganized sector)
                                               (ii) To collect the information from students and workers who are already engaged in the industry.
                                              (iii) To collect the information from institutions and teachers/trainers.
                                              
                            Project 2 - (i) To collect primary data about institutional training.
                                               (ii) To collect the information about what industry demands from their employees.
                                              (iii) Tried to find out the gap between institutional training and skill training.
                                              (iv) What is the advantages and disadvantages of skill training over institutional training?
